(1) Update on relationship between promotion group and the committee. My communications with the committee have been short and sweet – “Get on with it”.
(2) Overlap with recruitment group – starts with our brand above. How can we work together?
Steve attended the first meet of the recruitment committee, summarised as follows:
- Target golf clubs, using golf-centred flyer
- Approach lapsed members
- Create flyer for general use – target local district
Plenty areas of overlap between recruitment, selling tickets and promoting choir (see below) – virtually doing the same things. Need to keep in contact (forward minutes to Bill –DW)
Potential members have to know about the choir/concerts
- Focus on local areas – leaflet drop.
- Perform/‘New Mill Concert Party’
- Encourage word of mouth/using choir members cf selling tickets
- Target local marketing – local press, magazines and websites
- Website/social media
They have to want to sing in/support the choir.
- Be excellent – be the best we can
- Hold open rehearsals/‘New Mill Concert Party’
- Communicate the benefits – see brand/mission statement
(3) Update on partnership with university – DW to ring Barbara Butler – do we need to provide her with what we want?
(4) Promoting the choir/concerts
- St Buryan MVC 5/7 Sept – design and create Concert Party Afterglow – DW speak to Ged
- Inform media – LC, SF now and nearer the time – mid August.
- Create flyers SF for targeted village drop. DW to look further into commercial drop companies.
- WW concert 11 Oct – see marketing plan – SF to put on website. Press releases and email now and in August. Adam to announce the plan and mention the hints and tips for selling by choir members/feedback in 2 weeks/could be done again Aug – RB to do 20 photocopies.
- Stall at Holmfirth craft market – 20th Sept, bags, artwork, refreshments, collecting names ?prize draw – joining with Forget-me-not. We need Adam to put in his weekly date announcements DW to ask. Great beer mats from SF – carry on and print.
- Stall at university – week of 22nd September, details later
- Other ideas – Penistone train – don’t stay on train beyond Denby Dale or Shepley. Need commitment from the choir RC to talk to choir
- Beaumont Park ? stall RC to investigate further
- Promotional video – Kirklees College will help after September DW to follow
- Can anyone in choir help between now and then? SF to ask at rehearsal

- Update on ‘Friends’ – corporate friends, new leavers, target setting
- Charity connections eg Huddersfield Town
- Kingsgate flashmob
