(2) Update on partnership with university DW
- We are well in time for a proposal, though the group agreed we haven’t got a hard focus as yet.
- DW to phone Vince after 18th Aug. New pro forma is being produced by the university. Barbara Butler wants our concert dates to disseminate through the university – she will be our first email subscriber if and when we get email going.
(3) Promoting the choir/concerts
St Buryan MVC 5/7 Sept
Design and create Concert Party Afterglow DW (Ged will not be available – his email gives his ideas – In terms of personality and MC role then Mackie would fit the bill but I wasn’t intending to ask him to perform. I suggest therefore that you have the performers lined up before you ask him. If you put it to him that Rod and Dave and John senior are performing with guests from Buryen and would he pull it together and MC then that should work For variety I would also consider asking Ibbo to do ‘Madera my dear’ but very aware of his disgraceful performance at the church some years ago so a bit of a loose cannon if he has been at the Rugby Club all day. Alternatively (or also) Bill Hopwood for a classic tenor solo? Tom is also a good performer).
DW to ask choir for volunteer to be MC and then design evening with St Buryans.
Inform media – LC, SF now and nearer the time – mid August. Liz and Robert making great progress with face-to-face contact with Val Javins from the Examiner. Halifax Courier a possibility CJ. DW to ring Liz with email addresses.
Create flyers SF for targeted village drop SF -15th Aug Steve Davis has volunteered his boys for a fee (we will need to support with transport and addresses – DW discuss with SF).

- see marketing plan – SF to put on website. Press releases and email now and in August.
- CJ to target Halifax – Square Chapel, Minster etc
- How do we arrange some sensible feedback on hints and tips for selling tickets? DW to mention the intention to do a simple email survey.
Stall at Holmfirth craft market 20th Sept
- bags, artwork, refreshments, collecting names ?
- prize draw – joining with Forget-me-not. We still need Adam to mention weekly. SF to provide Robert with photos. Inform media LC SF.
