There is uncertainty as to how far the promotion group gets involved in marketing which is a core role within the committee. Areas of potential overlap.
- Mobilising the choir members as a potent sales force, starting with family and friends but thinking about any personal contact that might bear fruit such as leisure clubs, work etc.
- Getting the information about the choir/concerts out to as many people as possible (press, radio, posters, social media).
- In between the choir members and the wider pr are people and organisations that we know and who might be interested in the choir and buying tickets. A directory of emails could be compiled of all the contacts we make through the stall, concerts we do for others etc.
Does it need a dedicated group reporting to the committee to set down some good practice? Who will head this up and how will the promotion group interact with it, should it get going?
At the moment we are concentrating on promoting the choir’s reputation within the local community, and beyond, and the October Town Hall concert.

- mission statement – awaits clarity about the relationship with committee – the choir’s mission has three elements: men learn to sing and perform as a male voice choir, the choir sings at concerts (raising funds for the choir or for organisations, including charities), rehearsal and concert performance fosters strong fellowship. Our mission is how that brand is promoted.
- How to develop a closer relationship with a charity e.g. Dean Hoyle, Huddersfield Town FC.
- How to utilise ‘New Mill Concert Party’ as a promotion.
