We were 2 short so we concentrated on a small number of items.
- Selling at concerts. 2015 programme Cornwall (Sheila and Delia will help), Lindley Church and Uppermill Civic okay for merchandise.
- A Christmas CD downloadable from website (JM). The audio could be taken off a KLTV recording of the 2015 Christ Church concert. The committee have agreed a 50-50 match with the 100 club for financing these sort of initiatives. I will mention again to Tom (DW).
- We need more general beer mats – SF will order.
- E-marketing. Still important to recruit subscribers COLLECT WHERE YOU CONNECT – we will be increasing the information we collect to include postcode, age, relative or acquaintance. EMPHASISE THAT THE SUBSCRIPTION IS FREE AND WILL NOT BE PASSED ON TO OTHER SUBSCRIPTION LISTS.
(1) Online sign up link done. Facebook sign up link done.
(2) Business cards have arrived – they include the prize draw which could run from the stall through to Christmas. We need to explain to the choir what is the purpose behind the cards before handing them out to the choir (JM can do this via the mail chimp choir link – see also disseminating student research). We can start to hand them out after we return from Cornwall with a short explanation at rehearsal.
(3) Anyone within 10 feet – face-to-face opportunities, at the stall and concerts – either direct onto a device or noted down on paper – sheets on a clipboard.
(4) Posters – information included on how to sign up.
(5) JM/SF exploring how to capture Twitter and Facebook choir followers.
(6) Are our ticket sellers an opportunity. Can they hand out business cards to their customers?
(7) Stalls – Summer Holmfirth Square – senior moment from DW booking July 14th – he will change to 18th July (done). We will need a gazebo (DW has one). September craft market stall to be decided depending on HTH concert.
* Other marketing
(1) PR/media – SF to continue with Holme Valley Review and Examiner. EC the rest of the list of Parish Magazines, What’s On mags etc. The free websites/index still available. JM/SF will manage them. DW will continue with Kirklees Leisure.
(2) website – SF will get a price for a new look website ? a good project for the 100 club.
(3) Flyers and posters. Was there a plan so everywhere was covered? Could we produce lists of places which would go together and then ask for volunteers and give them the list? (DW – still planning)
(4) Facebook page – digital equivalent of a poster/flyer. What to go on it?
(5) Newsletter – SF to design program. Short informative articles based in website and linked to front page of newsletter. No in-jokes. Font Arial 12p. 250 words approx. To be included in notices – SF to ask for articles from the choir members.
- Seminar on how to progress the student research. Thur 11th June. Meltham GC, 4-6pm followed by dinner. Main and pudding around £10-15.
Attendees – JM, SF, DW, AB, RT, RC + Alan, Brierley, John Senior, Liz Coombs, Pat Whiteley. DW will design the programme, Adam to chair.
* The research from the Huddersfield students needs to be passed to all the choir members along with our plans for next steps. JM has agreed to post bullet points on the mail chimp choir link.
