Marketing projects
- Holmfirth stall – Holmfirth Square – A street activity license can vary between £35 – £120 per day. Email from licensing – ‘Please find attached the application form you require. A street activity is booked on a first come first serve basis, therefore if you know in advance the dates you require we can provisionally book you in and once the completed application form including payment has been received we can issue you a license. The most suitable area for this in Holmfirth is on the corner by the Butchers. Do you have any dates in mind?’ (Promotion team to discuss dates nearer the time ? summer and Craft market in Sept).
- Huddersfield Town centre – BJ to check it out.
- Willard White – just a thought about flyers and posters. Was there a plan so everywhere was covered? Could we produce lists of places which would go together and then ask for volunteers and give them the list? (DW discussed with BH who will work together on a joint plan).
Future marketing projects
* University partnership – (1) awaiting students to sign up to market research. 2 emails from
Vincent
i) The good news is that you have been picked by a great group, and furthermore, there is no charge for what we are going to do on your behalf. If there are any costs for travel or anything like that I will make sure the group talks to you first to make it clear and acceptable.
Once this research gets underway you will be able to talk to the group about cost factors for your marketing activity and see what is do-able and most effective within your budget.
ii) The date is 4 November at 10.15am in the Business School. You will have plenty of opportunity to meet your group as the project moves forward.
Look forward to seeing your ‘representatives’ there.
Best wishes,
Vince
(So far SF has agreed to represent us – awaiting JM return from the lakes)
(2) Facebook – (the new Facebook site is unsatisfactory as it stands, though the idea of a group is still valid. I’ve agreed with SF to use our page site until the confusion is settled. Hopefully SF and JM will be able to meet with Sabena and Nick in the near future). In addition, whilst it is important to have regular content, it would be unwise to have trivia. SF to provide some guidelines.
- Email marketing – JM has agreed to be administrator. Concentrate on one email collection process at a time – business cards to start with at all three Christmas concerts. The cards will have stickers on the back with a website address. If people are interested they can click on that address and provide their email to join our subscription list. A prize draw will be an incentive. The subscription list is then available to use in email marketing, maybe using an EMP.
- Videos – Kirklees – TV progress to date (We await outcome but SF reported smooth process)
Kirklees college – keep contact going (DW to mail Ravi – done)
Loose ends – AOB
audioblog not discussed
talks to organisations – in addition to MiGJ not discussed
Radio Leeds not discussed
Tideswell not discussed
Is there anyone who has attended a concert prepared to write a letter to the examiner extolling our performance?
Do we need to explore networking events and opportunities?
Date time next meet 28th November Liz and John’s 10.30am
